1) SC orders removal of stray dogs from public spaces
The Supreme Court, expressing concern over the nationwide rise in dog-bite incidents, directed all States/UTs to immediately remove stray dogs from institutions such as schools, colleges, hospitals, sports complexes, bus stations, depots, and railway stations. The dogs are to be relocated only to authorised shelters after sterilisation and vaccination as per the ABC Rules, 2023.
