1. Iran vows to protect its nuclear programme
Iran reiterated that it will firmly protect its nuclear programme amid continued tensions with the United States. The situation has escalated with disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and stalled negotiations over nuclear limits. Iran considers its nuclear capability a matter of sovereignty, scientific progress, and strategic deterrence. The U.S., however, sees it as a proliferation risk and insists on restrictions and verification. The logic underlying the conflict is mutual distrust—Iran perceives sanctions and pressure as coercive, while the U.S. views Iran’s intentions as potentially destabilising. Iran’s stand is defiant and rooted in national pride, whereas the U.S. continues a policy of strategic containment.
