1. दुष्कर्म पीड़िताओं के गर्भपात की समयसीमा
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार से कहा कि दुष्कर्म पीड़िताओं, विशेषकर नाबालिगों के मामलों में गर्भपात की वैधानिक समयसीमा हटाने पर विचार किया जाए। मामला 15 वर्षीय दुष्कर्म पीड़िता के 30 सप्ताह के गर्भ को समाप्त करने की अनुमति से जुड़ा था। कोर्ट ने स्पष्ट कहा कि अनचाहा गर्भ किसी बच्ची पर थोपा नहीं जा सकता, क्योंकि इससे उसे जीवनभर मानसिक पीड़ा झेलनी पड़ सकती है। इसका तर्क मानवीय गरिमा, शारीरिक स्वायत्तता और पीड़िता के पुनर्वास से जुड़ा है। अदालत का रुख संवेदनशील और न्यायोन्मुख है। यह विषय कानून और नैतिकता के बीच संतुलन की मांग करता है। गर्भपात कानून में संशोधन पीड़िताओं को अधिक न्यायपूर्ण राहत दे सकता है।
