1.     AI Wave as a Bubble & India’s Position

He highlighted that India lacks a strong AI “play”, leading to foreign investor indifference. The logic lies in capital concentration—investments are flowing to countries like the US, Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea, which dominate AI innovation. India’s earlier IT success based on cost arbitrage is now insufficient in an innovation-driven AI era. The stand suggests that while the AI hype may fade, India must strengthen R&D, regulatory ease, and innovation capacity to stay competitive. The gist is that India’s structural weaknesses—low R&D spending (~0.6% of GDP) and business constraints—are limiting its global attractiveness. However, long-term growth prospects remain strong if reforms are undertaken.
