1. Gulf Stream

The Gulf Stream is one of the world's most important warm ocean currents. It originates in the Gulf of Mexico and flows along the eastern coast of North America before crossing the Atlantic Ocean toward Europe. This current carries warm tropical water northward, helping to moderate the climate of Western Europe. Countries such as the United Kingdom experience milder winters because of its influence. The Gulf Stream also affects weather patterns, marine ecosystems, and shipping routes. It plays a vital role in the global circulation system by transferring heat from lower latitudes to higher latitudes, maintaining Earth's climate balance.

2. Labrador Current

The Labrador Current is a cold ocean current that flows southward from the Arctic Ocean along the coast of Labrador and Newfoundland in Canada. It carries cold water and icebergs into the North Atlantic Ocean. When it meets the warm Gulf Stream, dense fog often forms, creating challenging conditions for navigation. The mixing of warm and cold waters supports rich fishing grounds by bringing nutrients to the surface. The Labrador Current significantly influences the climate of northeastern North America by lowering temperatures.
