1. Birth and Introduction
Lalit Aditya Muktapida was one of the greatest rulers of the Karkota dynasty of Kashmir. He ruled during the 8th century CE, approximately from 724 to 760 CE. He was the son of King Chandrapida and is remembered as a powerful emperor, military conqueror, and able administrator. Historical records describe him as a visionary ruler who transformed Kashmir into a prosperous and influential kingdom. 2. Accession to the Throne
Lalit Aditya ascended the throne after the death of his father, Chandrapida. Upon becoming king, he inherited a stable kingdom but aimed to make it even stronger and more influential. He focused on consolidating his authority and strengthening the administration. Lalit Aditya envisioned building a vast and prosperous empire that would extend beyond Kashmir’s borders.
