FOOD WEB
(MISC. SUBJECTS)
1. Sun
The Sun is the primary source of energy in every ecosystem. Plants use sunlight to make food through photosynthesis. This energy is then passed from plants to herbivores and finally to carnivores. Without the Sun, food chains and food webs could not exist, making life on Earth impossible.
2. Plants – Producers
Plants are called producers because they make their own food using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide through photosynthesis. They form the foundation of the food web by supplying energy to all other organisms. Examples include grasses, shrubs, and trees. Every food chain begins with producers.
3. Herbivores – Primary Consumers
Herbivores are animals that feed directly on plants. They are known as primary consumers because they obtain energy from producers. Examples include deer, rabbits, and grasshoppers. Herbivores play an important role in transferring energy from plants to higher-level consumers within an ecosystem and food web.
4. Grasshopper
A grasshopper is a primary consumer that feeds on grasses and other plants. It converts plant energy into animal energy, maki
