Context
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has released the Sustainable Development Report 2026, assessing the progress of countries towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
History
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets were adopted by all UN Member States in 2015 to eradicate poverty, protect the environment, and ensure inclusive economic growth by 2030. Since then, the SDSN has published the annual SDG Index, which ranks countries on a scale of 0–100 using data from the United Nations, the World Bank, and other international agencies. The index measures progress across the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development.
