Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA)
The Supreme Court Bar Association is one of India’s most influential legal bodies representing advocates practicing before the Supreme Court of India. Recently, the Supreme Court proposed the creation of a permanent women-specific Vice-President post in the SCBA from the 2027–28 session onward, reflecting growing emphasis on gender inclusion within the legal profession.
The SCBA was established alongside the Supreme Court on 26 January 1950. Its first President was M. C. Setalvad, and eminent jurists such as C.
