Salient Features: The Bill prescribes rigorous punishments, including imprisonment ranging from 7 to 20 years and fines between ₹2 lakh and ₹10 lakh. In cases involving criminal conspiracy aimed at disturbing communal peace, punishment may extend to life imprisonment with fines up to ₹25 lakh. All offences are categorized as cognizable, non-bailable, and non-compoundable. Investigations must be conducted by officers not below the rank of DSP/ACP. It also mandates the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to maintain a centralized digital and physical registry of each Saroop (copy of the scripture), replacing the term “Bir” with a more respectful terminology.
