New Outbreak of Bird Flu (H5N1) in Japan
A new outbreak of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) has recently been reported in Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, where the virus was detected at a poultry farm. Preliminary tests suggest the presence of an H5 subtype of the influenza A virus, possibly H5N1, and further laboratory analysis is being conducted to confirm the strain. Avian Influenza is a highly contagious viral disease that mainly affects domestic poultry and wild birds, often leading to large-scale mortality and economic losses in the poultry sector.
