Madagascar President Escapes Amid Military Uprisings

In October 2025, Madagascar plunged into a severe political crisis after President Andry Rajoelina fled the country following a sudden military uprising, raising serious concerns about governance and stability

 The unrest began on 25 September 2025 in the capital Antananarivo, triggered by persistent power and water shortages that symbolised state failure in basic service delivery. Public anger intensified as the government failed to respond effectively.
