1. India Approves Brahmaputra Underwater Road Tunnel
The Government of India has granted final approval for the country’s first underwater twin-tube road tunnel beneath the Brahmaputra River in Assam. This pioneering infrastructure project will connect Numaligarh and Gohpur, significantly enhancing connectivity in the Northeast. The total corridor length will be approximately 33.7 km, with the main underwater tunnel stretching 15.79 km beneath the riverbed at a minimum depth of 32 meters.
