The Cell Broadcast Emergency Warning System (CBWS) is a significant technological initiative by the Government of India aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness and public safety. Recently, a nationwide test demonstrated its capability to send real-time alerts to millions of mobile users within seconds. Unlike conventional SMS, CBWS uses a one-to-many communication model, transmitting messages directly through mobile towers to all devices within a defined geographic area, without requiring internet connectivity.
