The recently constituted “Board of Peace,” led by Donald Trump, represents a US-led multilateral initiative aimed at managing the post-conflict situation in Gaza. India participated in its first meeting as an observer, reflecting cautious engagement without formal commitment. The body was conceptualised in September 2025 as part of a broader Gaza peace roadmap and formally established during the World Economic Forum. It has also received recognition through United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025).
The Board seeks to oversee ceasefire implementation, reconstruction, and governance in Gaza. Its mandate includes mobilising approximately $70 billion for rebuilding, deploying an International Stability Force (ISF), and creating interim governance arrangements until Palestinian institutions stabilise. With 22 member countries and several observers—including India, the EU, and Germany—it also aspires to expand its role to other conflict zones like Ukraine, positioning itself as a quasi-global security platform.
