The Blackbuck is India’s fastest terrestrial mammal, capable of speeds up to 80 km/h, and is well adapted to open grassland ecosystems. Ecologically, it is considered a keystone grazer, playing a crucial role in maintaining grassland health by regulating vegetation and controlling invasive species.
