On 9 July 2026, India, Australia, and Canada launched the Australia–Canada–India Technology & Innovation Partnership (ACITI) to strengthen cooperation in critical and emerging technologies. The partnership aims to build secure, resilient, and trusted technology ecosystems while promoting innovation, sustainable development, and reliable global supply chains.
Background
The idea for ACITI emerged during the G20 Summit held in Johannesburg in November 2025, where the leaders of the three countries agreed to deepen cooperation in advanced technologies and critical minerals. The initiative was formally operationalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in July 2026. It reflects the growing global effort to diversify technology partnerships and reduce dependence on concentrated supply chains for strategic resources.
