Background
The original Aarogya Setu, launched in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, became one of the world's fastest-downloaded public health applications, crossing 200 million downloads. It played a significant role in contact tracing, self-risk assessment, hotspot alerts, and integration with the CoWIN vaccination platform. Building on this success, the government has transformed the application into a comprehensive citizen-centric digital healthcare platform.
