Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a high-powered task force under Nandan Nilekani to recommend measures for securing India’s public examination system after prolonged controversy over paper leaks and irregularities. The proposed panel is expected to examine the entire examination chain, including question preparation, printing, digital systems, logistics, invigilation and result processing. Nilekani’s experience in building large-scale digital public infrastructure is intended to bring a technology-driven and systems-based approach to reform.
