1.     NEET-UG 2026 cancelled after paper leak

The National Testing Agency cancelled NEET-UG 2026 after evidence emerged that the examination paper had leaked before the test. A whistleblower message and investigations by police and the CBI suggested that question papers were circulated illegally. The logic is that competitive examinations involving lakhs of students require complete transparency and security because merit-based selection is central to educational fairness. The government adopted a “zero tolerance” stand on exam malpractice and announced a re-test. The gist is that repeated paper leaks expose systemic weaknesses in examination management, digital monitoring and administrative accountability. Public trust in recruitment and educational institutions depends on fairness, credibility and equal opportunity. Comprehensive reform of exam security systems has become essential.
