1.     NEET-UG 2026 cancelled after paper leak

The National Testing Agency cancelled NEET-UG 2026 after evidence of a paper leak emerged through whistleblower reports and social media circulation. The exam, conducted for lakhs of medical aspirants, was declared compromised, and a re-test was announced. The CBI began investigation while police arrested suspects linked to the leak. The logic is that high-stakes examinations require absolute credibility because unfair practices damage merit-based selection and public trust. The government’s stand was “zero tolerance” toward examination fraud and assurance of transparency in the re-test process.
