1. Vijay sworn in as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
TVK leader Vijay was sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, marking a major political transition in the State. He promised transparent and clean governance, announced welfare measures, and emphasised anti-corruption and law-and-order reforms. The logic behind his rise lies in voter desire for political change and dissatisfaction with traditional Dravidian parties. Vijay’s image as an outsider and reform-oriented leader helped him build broad support. The stand of the new government is to project accountability, welfare delivery, and administrative efficiency. The gist is that Tamil Nadu politics has entered a new era where celebrity influence transformed into electoral success. However, sustaining public trust will depend on governance performance, coalition management, and policy implementation rather than symbolic appeal alone.
