1. Government Caps Airfares Amid IndiGo Disruptions
Following unprecedented flight cancellations by IndiGo, the Union Government imposed fare caps to protect passengers from price exploitation. IndiGo, which controls nearly 60% of domestic air traffic, had cancelled two-thirds of its flights at the peak of the crisis. The Ministry of Civil Aviation invoked regulatory powers to cap economy fares between ₹7,500 and ₹18,000 based on distance slabs.
