1. आवारा कुत्तों पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट का सख्त रुख
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने आवारा कुत्तों को लेकर अपने पुराने आदेश में ढील देने से इनकार करते हुए स्पष्ट किया कि अस्पतालों, स्कूलों, बस अड्डों और रेलवे स्टेशनों जैसे संवेदनशील इलाकों से पकड़े गए कुत्तों को दोबारा वहीं नहीं छोड़ा जाएगा। अदालत ने यह भी कहा कि यदि कोई कुत्ता रेबीज या गंभीर बीमारी से ग्रस्त हो और सार्वजनिक सुरक्षा के लिए खतरा बने, तो विशेषज्ञों की सलाह पर इच्छामृत्यु (Euthanasia) दी जा सकती है। यह फैसला लगातार बढ़ते डॉग बाइट मामलों और सार्वजनिक सुरक्षा की चिंता के बीच आया है। RWA संगठनों ने इस फैसले का स्वागत किया, लेकिन साथ ही पार्कों को भी आदेश के दायरे में लाने की मांग की। दूसरी ओर पशु अधिकार कार्यकर्ताओं का मानना है कि समस्या का समाधान केवल हटाने से नहीं, बल्कि बेहतर नसबंदी और आश्रय व्यवस्था से होगा। यह मुद्दा मानव सुरक्षा और पशु अधिकारों के बीच संतुलन की जटिल चुनौती को दर्शाता है।
