1. महिला आरक्षण विवाद और राजनीतिक ध्रुवीकरण
20 अप्रैल के अंक में महिला आरक्षण और परिसीमन पर सियासी टकराव जारी रहा। प्रधानमंत्री ने पश्चिम बंगाल की रैली में तृणमूल कांग्रेस पर महिलाओं के आरक्षण का विरोध करने का आरोप लगाया, जबकि कांग्रेस ने कहा कि विपक्ष ने महिला आरक्षण नहीं, बल्कि परिसीमन विधेयक को हराया है। इसका तर्क यह है कि विधेयक अब केवल महिलाओं के प्रतिनिधित्व तक सीमित नहीं रहा, बल्कि सीटों के पुनर्वितरण, जनगणना और संघीय संतुलन से जुड़ गया है। इसी कारण विपक्ष इसे सत्ता-पक्ष की राजनीतिक पुनर्रचना की कोशिश के रूप में देख रहा है।दृष्टिकोण यह है कि महिला प्रतिनिधित्व बढ़ाना लोकतांत्रिक आवश्यकता है, पर इसे राजनीतिक पुनर्सीमांकन से जोड़ना सहमति को कठिन बना देता है। सार यह है कि महिला सशक्तिकरण का प्रश्न अब चुनावी नैरेटिव का केंद्रीय हिस्सा बन चुका है, लेकिन प्रक्रिया पर भरोसे के बिना समाधान मुश्किल रहेगा।
