1.   Operation Mahadev: Terrorists Behind Pahalgam Attack Killed

Union Home Minister Amit Shah informed the Lok Sabha that the three terrorists responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam attack had been eliminated in “Operation Mahadev.” Shah identified them as Suleiman, Afghan, and Jibran—all Pakistani nationals and top Lashkar-e-Taiba commanders. Forensic ballistic analysis and witness identification confirmed their involvement. The rifles used matched those at the crime scene, and Pakistani-origin items, including chocolates, were recovered. Shah credited the operation’s success to three months of coordinated efforts involving human intelligence, satellite tracking, and thermal sensors in the Dachigam forests. The Home Minister criticized the opposition for not expressing satisfaction at the elimination of the terrorists and drew attention to the comprehensive national response post-Pahalgam. He also stressed that both masterminds and foot soldiers had now been neutralized. The debate showcased the government’s assertive anti-terror stance and Pakistan’s involvement in cross-border terrorism, backed by detailed operational proof.
