1. NEET-UG leak: Latur coaching founder arrested
The NEET-UG 2026 paper-leak probe deepened with the CBI arresting Shivraj Motegaonkar, founder of Latur-based RCC Classes. The agency alleged that he received leaked question papers and answers as early as April 23, ten days before the May 3 examination, and circulated them to others. The event is important because it places a major coaching figure within the alleged leak chain and shows how examination malpractice can travel through coaching ecosystems. The defence claimed that the material consisted only of mock-test questions based on long teaching experience. The CBI’s stand is that Motegaonkar was an active member of an organised network involving insiders, middlemen and coaching contacts. The gist is that the NEET leak is not only a technical failure of exam security but a larger crisis of commercialised coaching, insider access and student trust.
