1. NEET-UG 2026 cancelled over paper leak
The National Testing Agency cancelled NEET-UG 2026 after allegations of a large-scale paper leak affected over 22 lakh candidates. Investigators found that a “guess paper” circulated through WhatsApp groups had substantial overlap with the actual examination. The Centre handed the probe to the CBI and announced a re-exam. The logic behind the cancellation was that the credibility of the examination process had been “vitiated” and continuing with the same result would permanently damage trust in national testing systems.
