LIFE CYCLES
1. Life Cycle of a Frog
The life cycle of a frog begins with eggs laid in water. These eggs hatch into tadpoles, which gradually develop legs and lungs. The tadpole transforms into a froglet and finally becomes an adult frog. This process involves significant physical changes and is known as metamorphosis.
2. Eggs of a Frog
Frog eggs are usually laid in water in large clusters. They are surrounded by a jelly-like coating that protects them from predators and environmental conditions. Inside each egg, an embryo develops until it hatches into a tadpole. Eggs represent the first stage in the frog's life cycle.
3. Tadpole
A tadpole is the larval stage of a frog. It lives entirely in water and breathes through gills. Tadpoles have tails for swimming and feed mainly on aquatic plants. As they grow, they develop legs and lungs, preparing for their transformation into young frogs.
4. Tadpole with Legs
As a tadpole grows, it develops hind legs followed by front legs. During this stage, lungs begin to function, and the tail gradually shrink
