1. Krishna River
The Krishna River is one of the most important rivers of India and is often called the lifeline of South and Central India. It is the fourth-largest river basin in the country after the Ganga, Godavari, and Brahmaputra. The river originates near Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra and flows through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh before draining into the Bay of Bengal. The Krishna River is approximately 1,400 kilometers long and supports agriculture, irrigation, drinking water supply, hydroelectric power generation, and industries. Its basin covers a vast area and sustains millions of people across peninsular India.
