DAYS IN ONE YEAR ON EACH PLANET
1. Mercury – 88 Days
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and has the shortest year in the Solar System. It takes only 88 Earth days to complete one orbit around the Sun. Because Mercury is so close to the Sun, it travels at a very high speed of about 47 kilometers per second. The planet has a rocky surface filled with craters, similar to Earth’s Moon. Mercury has almost no atmosphere, causing extreme temperature changes between day and night.
