1. Babur (1526–1530) – Founder of the Mughal Empire
Babur was the founder of the Mughal Empire in India. Originally a ruler from Central Asia, he defeated Ibrahim Lodi in the First Battle of Panipat in 1526 and established Mughal rule. Babur was a skilled military commander who introduced advanced battlefield tactics, including the use of artillery and firearms. Despite his short reign, he laid the foundation for one of the most powerful empires in Indian history. He also wrote the famous autobiography Baburnama, which provides valuable insights into his life, campaigns, and observations. His leadership marked the beginning of a new era in Indian history.
2. Humayun (1530–1540, 1555–1556) – The Restorer of the Empire
Humayun, the son of Babur, inherited the Mughal throne but faced many challenges. He lost his kingdom to Sher Shah Suri and spent years in exile in Persia. During this difficult period, he gained valuable support and experience. In 1555, he successfully regained Delhi and restored Mughal authority.
