UNCCD COP17, Mongolia 2026 — Land Restoration and Drought Resilience
The 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 17–28 August 2026 under the theme “Restoring Land. Restoring Hope.” Mongolia’s Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh was elected COP17 President. The meeting brought together the Convention’s 197 Parties, along with scientists, civil society, Indigenous groups, pastoralists and businesses.
