TEN CRITICAL QUESTIONS ON CURRENT GEOPLOITICAL AND NATIONAL ISSUES – 138
1. What does the cancellation of recruitment examinations in Jharkhand tell us about the crisis of credibility in public recruitment?
Answer: The Jharkhand protests show that public recruitment is not merely an administrative process; it is closely connected with equality of opportunity and trust in the State. Investigations should identify individual and institutional responsibility. A credible recruitment system must be fair, transparent and predictable because young citizens judge the legitimacy of government partly through access to public employment.
