Renaming of Kerala as “Keralam”
The Union Cabinet has recently approved the proposal to rename the state of Kerala as “Keralam”, following a unanimous resolution passed by the Kerala Legislative Assembly in June 2024. The proposal seeks amendments to the First Schedule of the Constitution (which lists states) and related provisions to reflect the new name officially across all languages.
