Operation Milap is a people-centric policing initiative aimed at tracing and reuniting missing persons, especially children, with their families. Conducted by state police forces in coordination with Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTUs), Child Welfare Committees (CWCs), NGOs, and other agencies, the operation focuses on reopening long-pending missing-person cases and using modern technology to locate individuals. The initiative was first launched by the Delhi Police and has since been adopted by other states, including Gujarat, where it recently achieved significant success.
