Historically, India’s aviation sector has witnessed rapid expansion since liberalisation, with increasing passenger traffic placing pressure on major hubs like Delhi’s IGI Airport. The need for regional connectivity and decongestion of existing airports led to the conceptualisation of Jewar Airport as a second major gateway for the National Capital Region (NCR).
