Context
The National Health Accounts Technical Secretariat (NHATS), under the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), has released the National Health Accounts (NHA) Estimates 2022–23. This is the tenth report in the NHA series and is based on the internationally accepted System of Health Accounts (SHA 2011) framework. The report measures health expenditure patterns and helps assess India's progress toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
Background
National Health Accounts provide a comprehensive picture of how financial resources are generated, allocated, and spent within the healthcare system. India has been publishing NHA` estimates to improve evidence-based policymaking and monitor progress toward the goals outlined in the National Health Policy, 2017 and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3.
