Mayon Volcano
The Mayon Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, located on Luzon Island in the Philippines. In May 2026, it erupted again, prompting large-scale evacuations and the sealing of a 6 km Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ). Classified as a stratovolcano, Mayon is renowned for its near-perfect conical shape, formed by successive layers of lava, ash, and pyroclastic materials.
