JOSH Teams: Youth-Led Community Action for TB Elimination
Context: On 8 October 2026, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched JOSH (Joint Squad for Health) Teams at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The initiative is designed to strengthen youth-led community participation in India’s fight against tuberculosis.
1. What is JOSH? JOSH brings together the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Ministry of Defence. Its teams include Class-I officers, MY Bharat volunteers and NCC cadets, combining administrative support with youth outreach.
