INDIA–US NAVY EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL EXERCISE 2026
Context: The Indian Navy and the US Navy conducted the eighth edition of their specialised Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Exercise 2026 at the Southern Naval Command, Kochi, from 10 to 14 August 2026. The exercise focused on improving cooperation between specialist diving and EOD teams of both navies.
Background: India and the United States have been conducting joint salvage and EOD exercises since 2005. Earlier editions were associated with the SALVEX series. The seventh edition was held at Kochi from 26 June to 6 July 2023, involving specialist diving and EOD teams and training in mine detection, neutralisation, wreck location and maritime salvage.
