The Indian Air Force and Royal Thai Air Force recently conducted a bilateral air exercise in the Indo-Pacific region (9–12 February 2026), near the northern entrance of the Strait of Malacca. The exercise aimed to enhance interoperability and strengthen maritime air operations.
Salient Features: The exercise involved advanced platforms such as Su-30 MKI, LCA Tejas, IL-78 refueller, and C-130J from India, and Gripen, F-16, and SAAB 340 AEW from Thailand. Key missions included Dissimilar Air Combat Training (DACT), maritime strike operations, search and rescue (SAR), and cross-servicing of aircraft. These drills improved coordination, combat readiness, and operational flexibility between the two air forces.
