India to Host the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games
India achieved a major milestone in 2025 when the Commonwealth Sport Executive Board recommended Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as the host city for the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games. This recommendation followed a rigorous evaluation by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), which assessed competing proposals based on athlete experience, technical readiness, infrastructure availability, financial capability, and governance standards. Ahmedabad was selected over Abuja, Nigeria, after a detailed comparative evaluation. The final confirmatory vote will be taken by the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow on 26 November 2025.
