Carbosulfan — India Proposes Complete Ban on a Hazardous Insecticide
Context
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has issued the draft Banning of Carbosulfan Order, 2026, proposing a complete prohibition on the import, manufacture, sale, transport, distribution and use of Carbosulfan in India. The draft was published in the Gazette on 24 August 2026 and invited objections and suggestions for 30 days.
