India recently launched the Block-Level Monsoon Forecasting System through the India Meteorological Department (IMD), marking a major advancement in weather forecasting, agriculture support and disaster management. The system provides highly localized or “hyper-local” monsoon forecasts at the block level instead of the traditional district level.
