The Union Cabinet has approved the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA) as a major industrial-infrastructure push aimed at strengthening manufacturing and accelerating the goal of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047.” The scheme will be implemented by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with a total outlay of ₹33,660 crore over six years from FY 2026–27. It seeks to develop 100 plug-and-play industrial parks across India.
The scheme builds on India’s longer policy trajectory of industrial corridor development, Make in India, logistics modernization, and ease-of-doing-business reforms. India has long faced challenges such as delayed land availability, fragmented clearances, weak trunk infrastructure, and high logistics costs. BHAVYA addresses these by offering pre-approved land, ready core infrastructure, utility corridors, drainage, treatment facilities, warehousing, testing labs, and worker housing. Parks will generally range from 100–1,000 acres, with a lower threshold for hilly and North-Eastern states.
