Bathymyrus perplexus — New Fish Species from the Bay of Bengal
Context: Scientists of the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Gopalpur have identified Bathymyrus perplexus, a new marine fish species from the Bay of Bengal. Its formal scientific description was published in the Bulletin of Marine Science on 24 September 2026, and ZSI publicised the finding on 30 September.
